Vault is an AI enabled counter UAV system designed to protect region under its umbrella from hostile airborne UAVs, RPAs or UAS.
Vault is a seamless integration of an electronic scanning radar for an active threat detection, a constant staring array of EO / IR imagers for passive all round drone detection and classification using AI based video analytics, a very long range Electro optics for tracking / classification and a directional RF jammer to neutralise the threat.
It is an intelligent sensor suite and seamlessly integrated hardware system capable of detecting small UAVs remotely using active radar or passive IRST based imagers and then tracking and classifying before neutralising it.
Threat Detection Process
The doppler surveillance radar with electronic scanning array is detects an incoming drone, it also distinguishes between a bird and drone to minimise false alarms.
The Panoramic IRST Wolfpack constant staring array system in real time is equipped with Artificial Intelligence to recognize drones using heat signatures captured by uncooled thermal imagers operating in LWIR spectral range.
The Radar and Panoramic IRST working together ensures 100% positive detection of a single or swarm of drones with no false alarms even in very challenging visibility and weather conditions.
Threat Classification Process
Radar and IRST can confirm the presence of a drone but a long range Electro Optics on a Pan / Tilt Pedestal is employed to image the close up of the drone for threat analysis. The EO is equipped with very long range optics on a cooled thermal imager and a long range HD day imager.
The EO system is equipped with a video target tracker to constantly track the drone for engagement. The video target tracker ensures it picks up the cue from the detection sensors and maintains a lock on the drone till its neutralised.
Threat Neutralisation Process
The Electro optics is co-mounted or gives the cue to the counter measure system to allow it to engage and neutralise the threat. We provide soft kill counter measure using signal inhibitors. The signal inhibitors are narrow beam highly directional jammers to cut off the communication of the drone with its remote control, it also cuts off video signal and in case the drone is pre-programmed and autonomous its GPS communication is also jammed.
Command and Control
The entire process of detection, classification and neutralisation is controlled by a single operator using a very simple to use Graphical User Interface built upon HawkAI software suite. The HawkAI suite controls all the hardware and sensor suite and it is integrated with GIS, enhancing situational awareness and enabling quick response time.
Vault is portable and can be quickly setup to bring area under protection. Integrated with HawkAI command and control suite it enables complete situational awareness with GIS capabilities. It can be installed as a portable solution on a tripod, on a mast on a vehicle for mobile applications and can also be installed as a fixed installation on critical infrastructure.
