<\/div>[vc_column_text]The strategic environment in which armoured vehicles operate is ever changing and the future combat vehicle must be equipped with smart systems that award it continuous awareness of its surroundings, all-terrain agility, and high mobility irrespective of light and weather conditions.<\/p>\n

Tonbo’s panoramic See Through Armour (STAR) solution significantly improves the armoured combat vehicle\u2019s all-round survivability, eliminating the crew\u2019s need to look out of the hatch for situational awareness and enhances its capability to respond first and rapidly inflict damage.<\/p>\n

The See Through Armour solution comprises of two sub-systems \u2013 The Wolfpack sensor system, mounted on the tank and the head mounted display, worn by the crew.<\/p>\n

Wolfpack – Wolfpack is a multi-aperture, multi-spectral, real-time panoramic imaging system comprising of multiple camera heads interconnected to display a single seamless panoramic video feed. Each camera head consists of six imaging sensors \u2013 three day and uncooled thermal cameras each, with field of view of up to 120 degrees.<\/p>\n

The compact setup of STAR (recommended) consists of 3 camera heads, i.e. 18 camera sensors to ensure no surrounding information slips by. Paired with pixel level fusion of thermal and day camera feed, it bolsters the system\u2019s capability and improves Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) accuracy; allowing the system to operate in all weather and lighting condition.<\/p>\n

HMD – The head mounted display (HMD) is a high-definition, mixed-reality eyepiece mounted on a heads-up display. It displays images of the tank\u2019s surroundings in a holographic form as if superimposed to the insides of the tank, thereby enabling the \u2018see-through armour\u2019 capability.<\/p>\n

It improves the crew\u2019s spatial awareness by integrating a magnetic tracker that senses the head movement of the wearer and displays video from the same direction. The HMD is also configured to display additional role specific information, for instance, the driver\u2019s HMD can interface with the GPS system to display location specific information for easier manoeuvring and situational assessment.<\/p>\n

The system has a built-in inertial sensor with 3-axis gyro, inclinometer and compass that enables real-time horizon stabilization and ensure the video streams horizon corrected feed, irrespective of the vehicle\u2019s orientation.\u00a0 The built-in AI algorithms help auto-detect and track multiple targets until the crew commander sets priority.<\/p>\n

The system can be retrofitted on most vehicle platforms and it can seamlessly integrate with sensors like radars and other onboard electro-optical systems.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n
